Former Manchester United boss David Moyes is reportedly in talks with Turkish club Galatasaray and the prospect of becoming the new manager. Galatasaray parted company with Roberto Mancini towards the end of last season. This was after the team failed to win the league title. However, did lift the Turkish cup last season. After leaving the Manchester United post just four matches before the end of last season, Moyes is understood to be ready to return to football management.

It was previously expected that he would be taking a much-needed break after having worked non-stop for the last 14 years. However, he appears to have indicated his desire to return quickly and has held talks with Galatasaray. The Turkish club have reportedly made Italy manager Cesare Prandelli and Germany manager Joachim Loew as the primary targets. It does not rule out Moyes returning since both managers are unlikely to think about joining the Turkish league when they have the opportunity to go for a top league like the Premier league or the Spanish league.

Moyes is thought to have been offered a £ 4 million per year contract. The Scot recently stated that British managers should consider broadening their horizons by managing clubs abroad. Steve McClaren is the last high-profile British manager to have managed abroad.

“The president said that we just spoke with David Moyes. He said that he can come to Galatasaray, but he is not one of the main targets for us. They just spoke to each other, exchanging ideas – that it is it. We are not in a rush, we are waiting for the end of the World Cup. The first two targets are Löw or Klinsmann,” said a Galatasaray spokesman. "I would like somewhere that would give me a chance of being in the Champions League or a club that has ambitions of being in the Champions League,” said Moyes.
