Saint Johnstone FC of Scotland manager Callum Davidson has described the Europa League encounter with Turkish Super League giants Galatasaray as a ‘huge’ clash.

The two teams, Saint Johnstone and Galatasaray, were drawn together in the third qualifying round tie as far as the Europa League is concerned. The two teams played out a 1-1 draw when they met in Turkey last week. The Saints were impressive in the first leg clash played in Istanbul.

Saint Johnstone have a good chance of winning the tie. A win in the second leg at McDiarmid Park would guarantee Davidson and Saint Johnstone a place in the next round of the competition.

The winners of the Europa League third qualifying round tie between Saint Johnstone and Galatasaray will face off with Randers FC of Denmark in the Europa League playoffs for a place in the group stage of the competition. Eliminated teams from the playoff round will drop down to the newly formed Europa Conference League playoff round.

Ahead of the all-important second leg meeting with Galatasaray, Saint Johnstone boss Davidson sat down with the media to talk about his team and their chances ahead of the game. According to him, the buzz around the double Scottish Cup champions is noticeable and that everyone is working hard behind the scenes to get ready for the Europa League game. Davidson says it's a big match for Saint Johnstone.
