Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder says that he is extremely surprised and happy with the support shown by the Turkish football fans when he took to the field in a Euro 2016 qualifying match against Turkey.

Sneijder may be playing his football in the Turkish league for some time now, but he still remains a very much an integral part of this Dutch national team. A lot of questions have been asked about the Dutch in recent months after poor form since the World Cup 2014. They have gone some way into answering those questions by getting a draw and a win in the last two qualifying matches.

Hamza Hamzaoğlu took charge of Galatasaray as the new coach of the Turkish side earlier on November and so it seems to have been a good decision as Galatasaray has secured a string of 3 successive victories claiming wins over Gaziantepspor, AkhisarBelediyespor and Konyaspor.

The Champions League did not go so well for Galatasaray as they were unable to make it past the group stages after not being able to claim a single victory out of the 6 matches were played.

Cesare Prandelli, the man who is in charge of Galatasaray SK at the moment, has urged the supporters of the club to back the players in the European Cup match against Anderlecht tomorrow.

That match is going to be played in Istanbul and is expected to sell out.

Prandelli wants Galatasaray supporters to keep encouraging the home side even if they seem to be falling behind the opposition a little bit during the match.

Moyes In Talks With Galatasaray

Former Manchester United boss David Moyes is reportedly in talks with Turkish club Galatasaray and the prospect of becoming the new manager. Galatasaray parted company with Roberto Mancini towards the end of last season. This was after the team failed to win the league title. However, did lift the Turkish cup last season. After leaving the Manchester United post just four matches before the end of last season, Moyes is understood to be ready to return to football management.

Galatasaray have announced that they have parted company with their manager Roberto Mancini with immediate effect. The Italian came to the club only a few months ago, but his time at the club has been met with almost no improvement in form. Despite taking the club to the Champions League last 16 stage, Mancini failed to improve the league form. As a result, Galatasaray finished in a disappointing second place – almost 10 points behind table leaders Fenerbahce. This was after winning the title last season. Hence, Galatasaray have decided to go for a new manager in the hope of improving the form.
