As a result, Galatasaray finished in a disappointing second place – almost 10 points behind table leaders Fenerbahce. This was after winning the title last season. Hence, Galatasaray have decided to go for a new manager in the hope of improving the form.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has indirectly hit out at the club’s former manager, Roberto Mancini, after winning the Premier league title. City managed to win the second league title in three years in spectacular fashion after a 2-0 win over West Ham. Despite leading the table only for 11 days throughout this season, City have managed to finish where it matters most. Even more than the victory, Pellegrini appears to have made the club likeable since they have been playing a brand of football that has been very attractive.

Former Manchester city manager Roberto Mancini recently criticised Samir Nasri for the attitude he has shown since joining the club from Arsenal in a £ 25 million deal a few years ago. Mancini was the manager who brought him to the Etihad stadium.

However, it became clear after just 12 months that the pair fell out with each other. There is even suggestions that Nasri could have been sold in the summer had Mancini stayed on as the manager of the club. Instead, he was replaced by Manuel Pellegrini in the summer.

Galatasaray take on Chelsea in the last 16 of the Champions League looking to beat the favourites to win the English league title.

Galatasaray managed to reach this stage after beating Juventus in very difficult circumstances in the final group match. However, Roberto Mancini has almost conceded defeat ahead of this encounter by saying that Chelsea are almost 80% certain to go through to the next round. A win for the blues in Turkey should be enough to see them through, although it has been a difficult place for English clubs to visit in recent years.
